I am currently working on and organising a sermon for tomorrow on the topic of "Relying on God".
It is an encouraging and convicting preparation time.
According to the wonderful cliche, "Practice what you preach", I am always looking at how I can serve God better and live for him better and not just tell others what they should do. From this sermon preparation, God is revealing to me quite a few things. Below are some of them:
-
Everything is so good and everything works out so well when we rely on God when doing things, so why don't I want to rely on Him all the time? (John 15:5)
Why is it that we lose such a passion that we have to live for God when we first become believers? (2 Cor 5:17)
- If we can live such a better life by relying on God in everything, why is it so hard to give Him that control? (Phil 2:21,Proverbs 3:5-6)
- What great things could God do with our lives if we only let Him? (Who knows!!)
I trust that these thoughts may touch your hearts and draw you closer to God.
