Snapshot #1

I have decided that I will post some pictures of different things that I have taken which should be interesting for you and of course you can download the pictures and set them as your background if you really like them!

The above picture was taken through the car window of some cloud where the suns rays were poking through. Not too bad a shot through a car window as we were travelling along!

Low and dry

Beautiful Lake Wendouree or no lake? This shot of the lake was taken yesterday and yeah there is not much to see is there? It sure shows the severity of the drought and the need for everyone to turn (back) to God in prayer for Him to break the droughts as He is the only one who can do so.

I like Skippy

I like Skippy because he tastes so good on the dinner plate.

We had kangaroo for tea tonight and I was reminded of just how nice it tastes. I wonder if you have tasted kangaroo, if you haven't you sure are missing out. It looks very similar to beef, tastes similar but it is a nice, tender and lean meat. Highly recommended.

I wonder why this meat has not been placed in the McOz burger because it just ain't Aussie if it doesn't have the national emblem in it.

This juicy kangaroo comes fresh like this:

It then is prepared:

and cooked into some great dishes.

Knight Aaron

Here comes the first post featuring a picture for my blog. This could be classed as a breakthrough but here's hoping for more regular blogging!

The story for the above picture is that I made the outfit for a friend's 21st birthday party as it was a medieval theme. I bought the metal helmet and then made the chest armour, sword, shield and shoulder protectors out of cardboard. It took a bit of time but worked out quite well.

The only things that were a problem, was with trying to see out of the helmet and sitting down in the chest armour. The holes and eye gap were a little off for where I can see out of so it limited my visibility and the chest armour was hard to sit down in as it pushed up quite a lot so I stood for a fair while to begin with.

All in all it was a great night from the court jesters who gave funny acts, the knights who had pasta sword fight, kings speech about his princess and then the princess giving her speech, and much more.

Yay its done

Got the essay done and now got to work on the presentation for it but yeah good to finish another assessment piece.

Found this and thought it was good:

The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending, then having the two as close together as possible.
- George Burns

Must remember that....

Procrastination

It is that time again to sit down and actually do some uni work, i.e. typing up an essay.

The funny thing though is that procrastination is coming much easier than the typing. Once I get into it though it will start to flow and will get done.

Anyhow, got class to go to and then it will be back into the essay. If anyone can shed further light on the development of open source or linux within education then you are free to comment about it and let me know what you know about it.

The End

There is 5 minutes of my shift left, will I get a call like other times or not?

Mission Beginning

I just wanted to make a post regarding having a meeting last night about a Kenyan Mission Trip planned for early '08.

I feel that God wants me to go on this mission trip so as a record I have made this post so that it can be looked back upon later to see His leading and to let you all know about it.

Life

This last week has been quite a shock for most people with the death of Steve Irwin and then Peter Brock about 3 days later. I am sure it has made a lot of people think about life and death and what they want to do before they die. It places life into perspective - in that we may not have as long as we would think or hope.

I find that I waste a lot of time by not being organised and using time management effectively so I don't get to do as many things that I could do if I was better at managing my time. Of course with God's help this will improve and it has benefits because with this extra time you can spend it doing more things for Him. :)

I encourage each one of you to think about how you are living your life to make it count for God so that you can leave a impact on those who you come in contact with.

The main thing is to enjoy life and live life to the fullest as God has blessed us in so many ways.

Relying on God

I am currently working on and organising a sermon for tomorrow on the topic of "Relying on God".

It is an encouraging and convicting preparation time.

According to the wonderful cliche, "Practice what you preach", I am always looking at how I can serve God better and live for him better and not just tell others what they should do. From this sermon preparation, God is revealing to me quite a few things. Below are some of them:

  • Everything is so good and everything works out so well when we rely on God when doing things, so why don't I want to rely on Him all the time? (John 15:5)

  • Why is it that we lose such a passion that we have to live for God when we first become believers? (2 Cor 5:17)

  • If we can live such a better life by relying on God in everything, why is it so hard to give Him that control? (Phil 2:21,Proverbs 3:5-6)
  • What great things could God do with our lives if we only let Him? (Who knows!!)
We really need to make sure that we are making our lives count for Him and Eternity.

I trust that these thoughts may touch your hearts and draw you closer to God.

It just confirms it...

I found this as I was reading the news at ABC.net.au and thought it was interesting: http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200604/s1624616.htm

Doesn't it show that evolution cannot be true because it would not have taken millions of years for these things to happen and they did not all happen by chance.

God created it like this so that Earth can have its seasons and that the planets stay where they are. God is also in control of all this as well and we should be thankful that He is in control of it all because I know if I was in charge of it, you would have to watch out.

Thanks God for the Earth that we live on and the way that it was intricately designed by You, and that we can enjoy it.

A Long Time Ago...

It has been quite a while since my last post and so many things have happened between then and now. It is still really busy but hopefully I will be able to organise my time much better so that I can update this more often.

About my website, still not much happening there. I am hoping to create a completely fresh and new design which takes quite a while, especially to get a good template. You may notice that at the entrance to the website I am playing with a new design. Let me know what you think about it.

Hope you are enjoying life even with its busyness.
